@ChicagoBears Just huge!!!!!
.@ebbitt Wasn't intended as a joke. I think it's a profoundly serious matter. Someone swept it under the rug. And that is appalling.Who at the NFL will get the flag for intentional grounding of the Rice video? And who called the play?
Coach Ditka, an Alan Keyes Republican, straps on the shoulder pads for Rauner in Illinois. http://t.co/RaTbvlpkRE
Jackie Robinson West, fighters to the end. We love you guys! Thanks for the memories!! #PrideofChicago
That's implied by those who objected to my Tweet and would be a lot more serious. But then why haven't the prosecutors said it? 4/4Is the charge that Perry plotted to push her out so he could put his own person in and stifle ongoing corruption probes of his allies? 3/4I understand that if the DA had quit, as Perry demanded, the Governor would have had the authority to replace her. Correct? 2/4I've gotten lots of unhappy emails after my Tweet that Perry indictment looked "sketchy." So here are my questions: 1/4.Great luck to my old friend and partner @davidplouffe. A real visionary, Plouffe will make @uber go!
@debdlund yesUnless he was demonstrably trying to scrap the ethics unit for other than his stated reason, Perry indictment seems pretty sketchy.
Just to clarify: "Don't do stupid stuff" means stuff like occupying Iraq in the first place, which was a tragically bad decision.
Such sad news about Robin Williams. Let us recognize depression as a life-threatening illness, not a deficiency of character. RIP
Good for Walgreens! http://t.co/71591Avx49
Sad to hear about Jim Brady's death. He was kind to me when I was a young reporter, and later became an inspiring voice for sane gun laws.Polishing Tea Party apple: McConnell, who opposed Rand Paul for senate, now calls him "most credible" KY cand for POTUS "since Henry Clay!"
The perverse paradox: "The suggestion that wages could finally be on the rise contributed to a market sell-off..." http://t.co/xERHh0saPk
10 yrs ago today, I stood w/Robert Gibbs, listening to Barack Obama give DNC keynote in Boston. Proud then and now.
Good for Ryan & some in GOP for acknowledging issue of poverty. Left should welcome fresh ideas. But Rx can't just be Trojan Horse 4 cuts.
Another errant Cruz missile. http://t.co/dwesbYKIB7
Congress won't act on the border crisis. They won't act on the hwy fund crisis. There's no time! They need to go home & ask for reelection.
.@Mitch_Stewart @jonlovett No, you're on a roll!.@jonlovett Striking, isn't it? In wish they'd just spare us!Another case of gutter politics: http://t.co/h2XEZHQwTq“Everybody says, ‘I don’t want to raise taxes,’ but they also don’t want to see their bridges fall in." Gov. Bill Harlem, R-TN. #timetoact
Shouldn't the Republican National Committee pick up the tab for this one? http://t.co/FL0MDVTJuG
The tragic events in the Middle East make peace between Israel and Palestinians seem even more remote and all the more urgent.
As the grateful son of an immigrant who fled oppression & found freedom & opportunity in the USA, I wish you all a Happy 4th!
@dougmcd3 nice pickup for @chicagobulls!Shouldn't it be taxpayers suing Congress for LACK of action, instead of Congress suing the President for doing too much?@UChiPolitics All-Star Fellows lineup: @SEIU_Eliseo @kevinbleyer @asymmetricinfo @PatrickMurphyPA & Steve Schmidt! http://t.co/hEBlIFTZTZIn other words, were black votes in MS for Cochran just a temp marriage of convenience, or will their votes Tuesday impact on his in Senate?Wondering if Cochran's much-ballyhooed outreach to black voters in MS will in any way impact on his approach to issues in Senate?
Hillary-Mitt analogy in Post story is absurd. It's not about what you have, but what you've done. HRC's record, roots speak for themselves.Wonder what George Orwell would have said about the phrase "voter integrity project?" http://t.co/cP51hpZ3S0
Something I never, ever thought I would do is Tweet a piece by Sheldon Adelson. But who knew he could write so well? http://t.co/jLWGK21YJh
Remarkable, really, that the same folks who blundered into Iraq on false intelligence, with no endgame, are pointing fingers now.The @UChiPolitics team. The best there is! Have fun, you guys. Go Sox!!
Final word on @NBA Finals. There isn't a better or classier coach in sports than Gregg Popovich of @spurs. His team reflects him!@JulianCastro, nice way to mark the end of your tenure as mayor of San Antonio. Another @NBA title!@spurs spot @heat a 100 meter head start, and still lap them! It's a clinic.@NBA Where the heck was the foul? #leaguewantsgamesix
.@moboysstate Proud to speak at kickoff of 75th MO Boys State wk. You want to feel better about the future, spend time with these kids!
@StevenARamsey likewise!Has the post-Newtown letdown so numbed us that we're afraid to say that it is far too easy for people who shouldn't have guns to get them?
Important perspective, movingly shared. http://t.co/Un56zxdYDH
Man, it's good our country has no serious challenges or exchanges like this would seem absurdly trivial! http://t.co/wOwoReGF52
Are GOP candidates really going to run on the premise that we should stay in Afghanistan longer??
Does it pay to attend college? The stats say YES! http://t.co/64C54PJVlV. The challenge is making it affordable for every qualified student.
Good news on the health care front: More insurers eager to join exchanges means more choice and competition. http://t.co/i45q7gPL3M.In memory of those who served and sacrificed for our country, and their families.
This quote is magic! Christine O'Donnell, on whether she'd run again v. Sen. Chris Coons: "I would rather slam my hand in a car door."I didn't hear @mcuban DEFEND or EXCUSE his prejudices. I heard him ADMIT them. We can't defeat biases unless we honestly confront them.
GOP establishment strategy v. Tea Party: Victory through surrender. Insider faves ride Tea Party positions and boatloads of cash to wins.
Thx to all who made @cureepilepsy Chicago benefit a great success. More than $2m for research. Together, we will save and improve lives!
